We just ran a very successful competition to win one of our beautiful kits in collaboration with Weddings in Surrey.
It is such an awesome gift for yourself or someone else and is so easy to assemble using the instructions enclosed. Just £19.95 (including everything you need and postage within the UK) we really want to spread the word that making your own Sweet Trees is so much fun!
Sorry to all our blog readers as we have been out of touch for a while. What a totally manic and fun month it has been. A couple of the highlights as follows:
An LMFAO inspired party with a huge marquee in the garden. Had lots of fun working on this wacky party and a first for us in making domed cup cakes. Now this is a party Cloud Nine Cake Company wish they had got an invite for. It looked like it was going to be great fun!
Lots and lots of children’s birthday cakes ending in another trip to London for Frizz Ease this time. 100 branded cup cakes in 3 beautiful shades of icing with logo on top. Although the drive to London is slow, I don’t think Cloud Nine Cake Company will ever get bored of the going there on business. Such and amazing city and a good chance to catch up on our to do list.
We promise not to leave it so long next time. Until then……..
So Cloud Nine Cake Company got to go on a bit of a road trip last week to London to deliver some yummy vanilla biscuits to John Frieda in Shaftesbury Avenue for a new product launch and to drop some of our stock to Chivers Flowers in Charlotte Street.
London really is such a cool and fabulous capital. We drove past Harrods and marvelled at all the lovely buildings and I got to do a bit of people watching (one of my favourite things) in Charlotte Street whilst Claudine delivered our Sweet Trees and kits to Chivers Flowers.
It was great fun to be part of the John Frieda product launch and I have since seen the adverts on TV. Gonna have to go and buy me some shampoo and conditioner!
What a busy week at Cloud Nine Cake Company. We had a very successful Wedding Fair at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey. It is such a beautiful venue and with the sun shining on Sunday it really makes the spaces available for events beautiful. Most rooms have a view of the racecourse from one side and a view of London from the other.
Then later in the week we met with the inspirational owner of the catering company, Bovingdons, Julie Gray to discuss supplying wedding cakes to brides at Fulham Palace. A totally different venue from Epsom Downs Racecourse with its modern feel, Fulham Palace is a beautiful and majestic venue set within 13 acres of stunning grounds. It has 7 rooms to choose from for your wedding that vary from Tudor to Georgian and is well worth a look if you are looking for a venue in London.
Happy New Year to you all. I hope you all had a lovely break over Christmas and started 2014 refreshed and ready for the New Year.
Cloud Nine Cake Company attended a networking event at Burhill Golf Club last night. The night was very imformative and fun but I think we were all taken aback but the gem of a wedding venue that is Burhill Golf Club in Surrey. Set way back from the road and surrounded by grass and trees it is a very impressive building as you drive up to the main entrance with beautiful rooms within with tall ceilings and large windows providing lots of light. They can perform civil wedding ceremonies and the food was delicious. I think a favourite was the sausages coated in mustard and honey and new potatoes that you dipped in a creamy sauce!
Thank you Weddings In Surrey for putting on the event!
So my new years resolution is to invest in a posh pen. Our retail guru, James had told us that it is all about making impressions even down to the pen you use in meetings. So when all I could find was my son’s green catapult pen as I rushed out the door last night which broke within seconds of using it I knew I should have listened to this advice more keenly.
Hello, well this will probably be our last post before we close our doors (figuratively speaking) for a well earned rest.
And what a busy couple of weeks it has been. We delivered cake to Jules Knight who plays Harry Tressler in Holby City. He tweeted that he was eating our cake for breakfast it tasted soOOOooo good.
Our Reigate Fair was a huge success with a buyer from Selfridges coming to our stall and enquiring after our Sweet Tree Kits and Sweet Trees. Fingers crossed we get a call from him in the new year!
We put on our courier hats earlier in the week and hand delivered a huge order of Ferrero Rocher, Flying Saucer and Jelly Bean Sweet Trees with a Christmas twist to 10 addresses in London for a client. 6 hours of driving. We needed some of our delicious carrot cake after that mamouth journey.
Here is a picture of the girls at Natwest, Epsom, Surrey enjoying some of the same delicious carrot cake.
Just one last big order for a client in Walton-on-the-Hill, Surrey and we can put our feet up and enjoy a glass of mulled cider. Recipe from Tom Kerridge Cooks Christmas last night on BBC2. Looking forward to trying it cout!
Merry Christmas to all our clients. Thank you for choosing Cloud Nine Cake Company to make your special occasions even more special. We look forward to working with more of you in 2014!

There is also the wonderful Priory Park which has a very space age looking cafe as well as a brilliant playground with sand, pirate ships and skate board ramps to keep the kids happy. In the Summer they even have water features that the children can play in.

Father Christmas also arrives by helicopter – fabulous! See you there
Well our first Christmas Fair in Twickenham last Friday night was a huge success and has certainly got us in the Christmas spirit at Cloud Nine Cake Company. It was great to see Twickenham christmas lights switch on and what huge turn out!
So this week we have been getting ready to be a part of our first collaboration with Alligator Pear in Tadworth, Surrey this Saturday 30th November 2013 between 11 am and 2 pm.
Our little Christmas Stall will be open at the front of Alligator Pear selling Christmas Sweet Trees, our delicious homemade Christmas Cake and our very own Sweet Tree Kits at the special price (this Saturday only) of just £15. There will also be a selection of goodies to snack on if you are feeling a bit peckish after browsing Alligator Pears beautiful gift shop. A real gem if you are looking for something that little bit different.
This is the day when stuff really gets moving and the Christmas lights in Twickenham get the official switch on.
Church Street will be at the centre of things with a range of entertainment to get things going between 1 pm and 7 pm.
And this is where Cloud Nine Cake Company will be having a stall. We will be selling our Sweet Tree Kits at a special rate as well as Sweet Trees, Pick and Mix bags (just 50 p), Christmas lollies, delicious Chocolate Brownies and mouth-watering Rocky Road. We will have some Christmas Fruit Cakes for sale as well as to sample but will be taking orders for these as well as personalised Christmas biscuits, Quality Street Wreaths and Ferrero Rocher Trees.
We are sharing our stall Dolly Daydream who will be selling a selection of handmade screen printed products made with love including Christmas bunting.
And as well as this lot, various shops in Church Street and around the town generally will be doing special stuff and offering festive discounts.
It will continue through to 6:00pm when the lights are switched on by the Mayor of Richmond and the Vicar of St Mary the Virgin Church.
Hopefully see you there to join in the fun and pick up some Christmas goodies!
Thinking of making your own wedding cake then look no further than Frances, the finalist of the Great British Bake Off 2013. Most wedding cakes take many more hours than 6 to prepare and require huge skills when icing and decorating them. Frances was extremely clever in using butter-cream instead of sugar paste icing to decorate her cake. Butter-cream is much more easier to work with and hides mistakes that may have been made in the baking of the cake (i.e. crumbling sponge). The beautiful edible decoration confetti is a very simple yet effective way to decorate a cake. She simply sliced fresh fruit thinly then cut in to her desired shapes using biscuit cutters and then cooked them gently in the oven until they curled and crisped slightly. Inspired!
More on what we are up to in the run up to Christmas and where you can find us next week.
Until then – happy baking!
